A previous policeman has actually been given an eight-month suspended jail sentence for abusing his previous partner.


Kyle Millar, 28, whose address was provided as c/o Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) head office, Knock, Belfast, last month admitted one charge of domestic abuse between February 2022 and March 2023.


Millar, who had been suspended on full pay before being sacked last month, was in a relationship with his victim for one year and 7 months when the abuse happened.


Sentencing at Londonderry Magistrates' Court on Friday, District Judge Oonagh Mullan stated his angering had actually had a substantial effect on the woman.
